STRYPER Confirmed For Minnesota's SONSHINE FESTIVAL
December 4, 2005Reactivated Christian hard rockers STRYPER have been confirmed for the 25th anniversary of the Sonshine Festival, set to be held July 13-15, 2006 at Willmar Civic Center in Willmar, MN. Also scheduled to appear are TOBY MAC, DAVID CROWDER, JEREMY CAMP, NEWSBOYS, SPOKEN, KIDS IN THE WAY, UNDYING ATHEM, CHASING VICTORY, SLINGSHOT 57 and MONDAY MORNING, among others.
As previously reported, STRYPER are among the first confirmed bands for next year's installment of the Sweden Rock Festival, set to take place June 8-10, 2006 in in Sölvesborg, Sweden. Also slated to perform at the event are DEEP PURPLE, CELTIC FROST, W.A.S.P., KROKUS, CATHEDRAL, DORO, NEVERMORE and METAL CHURCH, among others.
STRYPER are continuing to tour in support of their latest CD, "Reborn", available on Big3 Records. "Reborn" marks STRYPER's first complete studio release of original material in over a decade, since 1990's "Against the Law", and features 10 original tracks as well a new version of the previously released track "In God We Trust". The album was recorded in Massachussetts at Blue Jay Studio, Mixed Emotions, and singer Michael Sweet's home studio.
Original STRYPER members Michael Sweet (lead vocals, guitar),Oz Fox (lead guitar),and Robert Sweet (drums) are joined in the group's current incarnation by bassist Tracy Ferrie.
